Free-I is a great host and as owner, greeted us warmly and welcomed us into his ‘home’. Owen his employee is a lovely host and cook (dinners) and also looked after us. We didn’t go for a sea view room but the main ‘wooden’ room with balcony and communal dining area has wonderful sea views from the cliff. Hammock available in main room. It has a great feel of nature and lovely plants, overlooking where the river runs into the sea. Rustic basic place, no TV. Wifi not always great but it is country! No pool and a small untypical beach but showers near beach to cool down and seating area. Lots of steps down. Bring some snacks if you wish to eat between breakfast and dinner at 6pm. Fantastic for travellers to see some of real Jamaica. Found it looking for off the beaten track getaways with a community edge.

Had wonderful talks into the evening. Free-I is very passionate about his place and it shows in all the rustic additions to his hideaway hotel.

PS. For such a rustic JA place, should serve more of a Jamaican breakfast! Breakfast is more continental.
