My partner and I stayed here for part of out holiday in Jamaica, but I wish it was longer!
This is a beautiful quiet place to stay. The grounds are well kept, the place is amazingly clean and so comfortable. It is not anything like a five star resort but has so much more going for it.
We stayed in the bottom cabin, which is simple but perfect! We had a balcony on which we spent most nights gazing at the millions of stars and listening to the music provided by the local ‘soundsystems’.
There are amazing views facing out to sea with a small pebble beach on which you can relax.
Free-I the owner is a wonderful host who is willing to look after you and any of your needs, just ask! Owen the cook has the best dishes around and is a must to eat while you are there!
Breakfast is included and consists of toast and jam, a sandwhich or bread and egg and fruit, tea and coffee. Sounds basic but it’s fresh, tates lovley and hits the spot.
There is so much to see and do around the area and the locals are friendly and approachable, regardless of what people say. On the weekend there is no food at Zion Country so we were advise to visit Sophia’s, a local food place and shop a road away.
At first we were apprehensive and we felt a bit uncomfortable but once we were there we were well looked after and ate some nice jerk chicken!!!
The cost for our stay was minimal and reasonably priced. We didnt spend much while we were there even though we did excursionsI!!!…do not pre book, speak to Free-I you’ll be better off!!!
I would recommend Zion Country to anyone who doesn’t want to experience the boring resorts, on which we spent some time. If you want to experience real Jamaica, speak to
locals and experience life there then look no further, ZIon Country is the place to stay.
